Mathematika Prize for Best PhD Thesis

Overview

Each year, Mathematika is proud to award two students in the Mathematics Department of University College London (UCL) with the Mathematika Prize for Excellent PhD Thesis.

The recipients are determined by the UCL Mathematics department, and the prize is administered by the London Mathematical Society funded by the proceeds of the journal, Mathematika.

Winners

The winners of the 2024/25 Mathematika Prize for Excellent PhD Thesis are:

  • Federico Barbacovi. Flop-flop autoequivalences and compositions of spherical twists. Supervised by Ed Segal.
  • Xin Guan. Nonlinear interfacial waves in two/three-layer Euler flows. Supervised by Jean-Marc Vanden-Broeck.
