The 2023 LMS Prize winners were announced at the Society Meeting on Friday 30 June 2023. The LMS extends its congratulations to this year’s prize winners for their continued contributions to mathematics.
Professor Dame Frances Kirwan FRS, of the University of Oxford, is awarded the Pólya Prize for her many outstanding and influential results in geometry and for her career-long service to the mathematical community.
The 9th European Congress of Mathematics will be held 15-19 July 2024 in Seville, Spain. The call for satellite conference proposals is open until the end of July 2023.
The call for minisymposia is open until 15 November 2023.

The LMS is delighted to report that Professor Caroline Mary Series FRS, former LMS President and Emeritus Professor of Mathematics, University of Warwick, has been awarded a CBE in the King’s Birthday Honours, for services to mathematics.
The LMS Newsletter was completely redesigned in 2017, incorporating mathematical feature articles as well as other new content. The Newsletter is available to all as a PDF on the LMS website, and in print to members who still wish to receive it that way.
It is with immense sadness that the LMS has learned that Vicky Neale recently passed away. Vicky was well known in particular for her work on mathematics education and for her outreach work.
