Support for mathematical activities in Africa
The Society currently provides support for mathematics in Africa under two headings:
The MARM programme links African academics with their UK and European counterparts via professional mentoring partnerships. In doing so, MARM provides the means and opportunities for African mathematicians to develop international working relationships while also improving the quality of academic provision within their home institution.

The Mathematics in Africa Grant Scheme provides partial support for mathematical activities based in Africa. Activities can include:
- Attendance to mathematical conferences or workshops.
- The organisation of mathematical conferences or workshops.
- Mathematical research collaborations.
